The Visvesvaraya Industrial and Technological Museum (VITM), on Kasturba Road beside Cubbon Park, is one of India’s premier science museums, opened in 1965 in memory of the engineer-statesman Sir M. Visvesvaraya. It is run by the National Council of Science Museums.

Its floors of hands-on galleries cover engines, electronics, biotechnology, space and children’s science, with working models, a Dinosaur Enclave and a full-scale replica of the Wright brothers’ Flyer hung in the atrium — a firm favourite with families and school groups.
