The Big Banyan Tree, or Dodda Alada Mara, at Ramohalli about 28 km west of the city is a single banyan believed to be around 400 years old. Over centuries its aerial roots have grown into new trunks spreading across nearly three acres, so that one tree looks like a small forest.
