The Yantroddharaka Hanuman Temple, on a low rocky rise near the river on the way to the Vittala temple, holds a striking carved image of Hanuman seated within a yantra — a geometric mystic diagram of interlocking triangles and a coiled serpent.
The image was consecrated in the 16th century by the great Madhwa saint Vyasaraja (Vyasatirtha), spiritual guru of Krishnadevaraya, and the temple remains a revered pilgrimage stop, busiest on Saturdays.
